INTRODUCTION:

This original charcoal piece, drawn on 18” x 24” newsprint, was created with minimal reference and guided instead by intuition and internal vision.

Each element was placed with intention, resulting in an unconventional yet compelling interpretation of a subject we often encounter. The raw texture of the medium and scale of the paper give the work a grounded, expressive presence. There is so much lying in the undertones of this artwork - you just have to take a minute to discover and see.

This piece invites quiet reflection and thoughtful questioning, serving not just as an image, but as an experience.

Exhibited at the Jacob Spori Gallery’s 2025 Student Show.

DUKE OF BRUNSWICK:

Duke of Brunswick is an edition created to explore the coexistence of power and elegance. Each print is rich with raw texture - boldly exposed and unashamed. Mounted with steel nails to raw wood boards, every piece was crafted with deep intentionality and care.

The exposed kitakata paper introduces a striking contrast and invites a sense of intimacy and vulnerability. This tension between force and fragility reminds us that art, like life, is living, breathing, and in need of human care.

The full edition is currently on view at The Logan Gallery’s Spring 2025 Exhibition.

PLEASE COME HOME FOR CHRISTMAS:

This four-layer woodcut print was entirely hand-carved and hand-pressed - a labor-intensive process that pushed my patience and endurance. Despite the hand cramps and long days in the printmaking studio, the meaning behind the piece made every hour worthwhile.

Embedded within the layers are small artifacts and quiet details that hold deep personal resonance. Through the process, I reflected on the beauty of simple homemaking, the importance of family traditions, and - above all - my love for my grandma. Every corner of this print carries echoes of her care, her effort, and the warmth that made her home so unforgettable.

This piece received a Merit Award at the Jacob Spori Gallery’s 2025 Student Show.

SERENADE OF STILLNESS:

Graphite on 8” x 10” paper.

At first glance, the calm of the foreground invites a quiet sense of serenity - but as your eyes move toward the background, a storm begins to unfold. The sky grows heavy, the trees bend under pressure, and jagged strokes of graphite reveal movement and tension.

And yet, she remains poised. Rooted in knowledge, wisdom, and peace, she seems untouched by the chaos around her. The wind becomes a whisper against her presence. Even through the gray, there’s a suggestion of light breaking through - casting her in a quiet glow.

She lives, unshaken, in a serenade of stillness.
